The Power Goat SL

The comfort-focused Power Goat, made road legal. Same moped styling and full suspension, but a 750W (1,000W peak) motor and 52V Samsung pack tuned to Class 2 / Class 3 — so bike lanes and paths are fair game.

The Engineering

What Makes the Power Goat SL Special

Legal Where It Counts

Legal Where It Counts

Class 2 and Class 3 compliant.

750W motor, 1,000W peak

Tuned to the 750W federal limit, which is what keeps it legal on bike lanes and paths in most states.

20 mph throttle, 25 mph pedal assist

Class 2 on the throttle, Class 3 when you pedal — the two limits most jurisdictions are written around.

70 Nm of torque

Enough to move a fat-tire bike from a stop without needing the higher wattage.

Battery & Range

Battery & Range

52V 20Ah Samsung, UL 2271.

UL 2271 certified

The battery carries UL 2271 certification, which matters for apartment buildings and insurers.

35+ miles throttle, 60+ pedal assist

Real range depends on how much you pedal, and Goat quotes both ends.

Second battery kit available

If the range is not enough, a second pack can be added.

Comfort & Control

Comfort & Control

Full suspension, hydraulic brakes.

Front and rear suspension

Full suspension is what separates the Power Goat from most moped-style e-bikes at this price.

Hydraulic disc brakes

Hydraulics rather than mechanical discs, which matters on a heavy fat-tire bike.

INNOVA fat tires and full fenders

All-terrain tires with fenders included rather than sold separately.

The Bike Cave Verdict

Ben's Take

The SL is the version of the Power Goat you can actually ride to work. Goat kept the moped looks and the full suspension, then tuned the motor down to 750W and capped it at Class 2 / Class 3 so it is legal in bike lanes — which, for a lot of riders, is the difference between a bike they can use daily and a toy for private property. UL 2271 on the battery is worth noting if you park indoors. At $1,999 it sits right alongside the Billy Goat SL, so the choice is really full suspension versus the Billy's frame.
