The Bike Cave Verdict
Ben's Take
The Atlas is a different animal from the rest of the Magician lineup — this is the mid-drive trail bike. That Bafang Ultra motor puts 160 Nm through the drivetrain, so instead of just being fast in a straight line, it climbs like nothing else in this price range. Point it up something stupidly steep and it just walks up. But the real story is the suspension: the KKE inverted air fork and RockShox Monarch out back give it a genuinely plush, high-end ride that fat-tire bikes at this price simply don't have, and those 4.8-inch tires float over everything. The SRAM G2 four-piston brakes are a huge step up too. It's heavy and it's a mid-drive, so you'll want to respect the drivetrain and shift with intention — but if you want a do-it-all off-road climber with real suspension, the Atlas punches way above its price. And on sale, it's a steal.
