Meelod DK300 Max
A moped-style fat-tire e-bike with two 1,200W motors, two 20Ah batteries and full suspension. Ben’s read: huge acceleration, great build, small brake rotors and an inflated range claim.

What Makes The Meelod DK300 Max Tick

Motors & Batteries
Two 1,200W hubs, two 20Ah batteries, one charger
Dual motors you can switch
Front, rear or both: “you decide.” Ben ran both for the hill and the beach, and says single-motor mode gets about 10 mph up the 15% hill.
Two 20Ah batteries
One charger with two leads. Ben says two empty batteries take about 10 hours.
160 Nm of torque
“This thing has so much torque, it’s insane.” He saw front-wheel spin on take-off.

Frame & Suspension
Full suspension, long rear end
Coil shock with preload
The rear spring has adjustable preload. At 190 lb Ben could still use the travel, and says the stiffer rear is there for heavier riders.
Long and stable
A long rear end keeps traction on the back wheel and makes the bike stable at speed. “It’s not twitchy at all.”
Zero rattles
“Nothing clinks and clanks.” He scores the build 9 out of 10.

Brakes, Tires & Cockpit
160 mm hydraulics, CST Scout 20 x 4
160 mm rotors
Ben can’t believe a bike this heavy and fast has 160 mm rotors, and would fit 203 mm. It still stopped from 28 mph inside the 20 ft marker.
CST Scout tires
The same tires as the Ride1Up Revv1: “great road tires” for a moped-style bike, but no grip on wet sand.
Off-set screen
The small display sits to the side, leaving the middle of the bars free for a phone, a speaker or a cup holder.

The Bike Cave Verdict
Ben’s Take
For the money this has the potential to be the best value dual motor bike on the market right now.
It’s going to be for someone who’s a little bit of a daredevil, because this thing is fast and it has a ton of acceleration.
If you’re north of 200 lb, this thing is what you need. You need torque, you need power to climb hills.
Ben did not give this bike a Cave Score in the review, so there is no number here.
What I liked
- Strong acceleration and a 22 mph hill climb on two motors
- Two 20Ah batteries and one two-lead charger
- Everything feels tight, with zero rattles
- Stable long-wheelbase handling
- Stopped from 28 mph inside 20 ft
- Off-set screen leaves room for accessories
What to know
- Meelod’s 150 mile claim is, in Ben’s words, completely overinflated
- 160 mm rotors are small for the speed and weight
- Hard to pedal. Ben calls it not a comfortable bike to pedal
- Not for newcomers or very tall riders, per Ben
- Tall seat for shorter riders and no seat adjustment
- Meelod’s own page lists both 28 and 35 mph as the top speed
Frequently asked questions
How fast is the Meelod DK300 Max?
Meelod claims 35 mph. Ben saw 34 mph on his GPS with both motors on, in 2°C weather and at about 85% battery, and thinks a full battery might squeeze out 35. Meelod’s own page also lists 28 mph in its summary.
How far does the DK300 Max go on a charge?
Meelod claims up to 150 miles. Ben was 15 miles in with 51% left, and says 25 to 30 miles at full power is realistic and 30 to 35 at most. Dropping to single-motor mode on flat roads stretches it.
How well does the DK300 Max climb hills?
Ben held 22 mph up a 15% hill with both motors on. On one motor it slowed to about 9 to 10 mph, and he switched the second motor back on.
What size battery does the DK300 Max have?
Two removable 48V 20Ah batteries, 1,920 Wh in total, charged by one 4.5A charger with two leads.
Who is the DK300 Max for?
Ben says experienced riders who can handle front-motor torque, hill riders and anyone over 200 lb. He would not recommend it to a first-time e-bike buyer.
