Power Goat MD
The two-up Goat with the King Goat's 72V mid-drive: 5,000W rated, 12,000W peak, 380 Nm, a 62.5Ah SVolt EV-cell frame battery, a three-foot seat, twin rear shocks, a front footrest and a 550 lb load rating.
Dial In Your Ride
Four Drive Modes
GOAT ships every MD locked to Class 2: 20 mph on the throttle, 25 mph with the pedals. The 75 mph figure is GOAT's unlocked, off-road number. Ranges are GOAT's and depend on rider weight, terrain and how hard you lean on it.

The Power Goat MD is coming to the channel
GOAT is sending one over. Ben will do what he does with every bike: GPS the top speed at a real rider weight, run the hill, measure the braking and burn the battery down to see what the range actually is. Until then, treat everything on this page as the manufacturer's numbers.

What's Under It

Motor & Drive
Patent-pending 72V mid-drive, 12,000W peak.
5,000W Rated, 12,000W Peak
The King Goat's custom mid-drive, rated at 5,000W and peaking at 12,000W by GOAT's numbers, driving the rear wheel through the chain so the gearing multiplies torque on the way to the ground.
380 Nm Of Torque
GOAT quotes 380 Nm at the motor, up from 320 on the 40Ah King Goat. That's the difference between a bike that gets going and a bike that climbs anything you point it at.
Kinetic Energy Recovery
Regen that isn't tied to the brake lever. Any time the motor isn't driving, coasting or slowing, it turns generator and feeds charge back into the pack.

Battery & Power
72V, charged by UL-certified 84V chargers.
72V 62.5Ah SVolt frame battery
The same pack as the 62.5Ah King Goat: SVolt EV cells, twenty of them in place of the 240 Samsung 21700s in a 40Ah Goat pack, for about 4,500 Wh at 72 volts. GOAT's pitch is longevity and output, not just capacity.
The Weight Of It
It's a 75 lb battery in an 18 × 6 × 10 inch case, and it's the reason the bike weighs 227 lbs. A second pack isn't compatible with the Power Goat MD, so 62.5Ah is the whole story.
3–4 Hour Charge
One 84V 18A UL charger, and GOAT quotes three to four hours to full despite the size of the pack.

Chassis & Brakes
Motorcycle parts, not bicycle parts.
Trama Inverted Fork
An inverted motorcycle-style fork with 100mm of travel up front, the same unit that made the King Goat feel planted at speed in Ben's review.
Fastace Rear Suspension
Twin Fastace rear mono shocks with 80mm of travel, so a passenger on the long seat doesn't bottom it out.
Karasawa 4-Piston DOT Brakes
Motorcycle-rated four-piston hydraulic discs running DOT fluid, front and rear, on self-repairing puncture-resistant tubeless Innova tires in 110/90-16.
How It Rides
Built To Carry Two
Three-foot seat, 550 lb load rating (P / Eco / Normal / Sport)
Everything that made the Power Goat the passenger Goat is still here: the long bench seat, the front footrest so you can put your feet up, and twin rear shocks so a second rider doesn't bottom it out. The load rating is 550 lbs, a hundred more than the Motor Goat MD and the King Goat.
Underneath, it's the King Goat's mid-drive through the chain, with Kinetic Energy Recovery feeding charge back into the pack whenever the motor isn't driving. Modes cycle through P, Eco, Normal and Sport. It ships locked to Class 2 speeds until you unlock it for off-road use.

Size & Fittings

Will It Fit You?
- Seat height34" (three-foot seat)
- L × W × H75 × 30 × 44"
- Wheelbase55"
- Ground clearance9"
- Weight (w/ battery)227 lbs
- Weight limit550 lbs
The three-foot seat is what you're paying for: room for two, or room to slide back and stretch out solo. It's a 34-inch seat height and a 227 lb bike, so it rides tall and you'll want a ramp to move it.
Plan Your Ride
Your Range, Not Theirs
One 62.5Ah pack and no second-battery bay on this one, so the questions that matter are how fast you ride, what the ground looks like and how much weight is on the seat. Set those and you get the window to plan a ride inside.

The Bike Cave Verdict
Ben's First Take
No Cave Score yet. Ben scores bikes he has ridden, and this one is still on its way. What follows is a read of the spec sheet, not a review.
I haven't ridden this one yet, so no score and no verdict until I have. On paper it's the most interesting of the three MD bikes to me: the King Goat's 62.5Ah SVolt pack and 12,000W mid-drive in the frame that was already the best Goat for carrying a passenger. A 550 lb load rating on a bike that GOAT says will do 175 miles pedalling is a genuinely different proposition from anything else in their range. One is coming to the channel, and this page gets the real numbers, the GPS speed and my Cave Score the day that review goes up.
👍 What stands out on paper
- King Goat mid-drive: 5,000W rated, 12,000W peak, 380 Nm through the chain
- 72V 62.5Ah SVolt frame battery, about 4,500 Wh, one charge
- 550 lb load rating with the three-foot seat, footrest and twin rear shocks
- Kinetic Energy Recovery tops the pack up any time the motor is off
- Trama inverted fork and Karasawa 4-piston DOT brakes
- Self-repairing tubeless Innova tires as standard
👎 What to know
- Not ridden yet: every number here is GOAT's, not mine
- Preorder only, first shipment lands early October and it's limited
- 227 lbs, and the battery alone is 75 lbs
- No second-battery option, so 62.5Ah is the ceiling
- Ships locked to 20 mph; unlocking it and riding it that way is on you
Frequently asked questions
What's different about the Power Goat MD versus the Power Goat V3?
The motor and the battery. The V3 is a 60V hub-motor bike; the MD moves to GOAT's patent-pending 72V mid-drive from the King Goat, 5,000W rated and 12,000W peak with 380 Nm, and a 62.5Ah SVolt frame pack. The long seat, footrest and twin rear shocks carry over, and the load rating goes to 550 lbs.
How far will it go?
GOAT's numbers: up to 175 miles with pedal assist, 150 in Eco under 20 mph, 100 in Normal and 62 in Sport above 50 mph. Those are best-case, light-rider figures. Use the range calculator on this page with your own weight and speed for a realistic window, and expect a real-world test from me once the bike arrives.
Can I add a second battery?
No. GOAT lists a second pack as not compatible with the Power Goat MD. The 62.5Ah frame pack is the whole system. If a second pack matters to you, the King Goat V3 62.5Ah takes an optional 72V 20Ah tank pack for 82.5Ah total.
How fast is it?
As shipped, 20 mph on the throttle and 25 mph on pedal assist, which keeps it a Class 2 e-bike. Unlocked for off-road use, GOAT claims 75 mph. That's a manufacturer figure until I put a GPS on it.
Power Goat MD or King Goat V3 62.5Ah?
Same motor, same battery, same forks and brakes, and one dollar apart. The Power Goat MD is the passenger bike: three-foot seat, footrest, twin shocks, 550 lb rating, no second battery. The King Goat is the solo dirt-bike-style machine with a short seat, a cargo box and the option of a second pack. If you ride two-up, the Power Goat MD. If you want the longest possible range solo, the King Goat with the extra pack.
