The Bike Cave Verdict
Ben's Take
The Portola is a lot of folding e-bike for not much money. A full-power 750W hub, a choice of two removable batteries up to 643Wh, hydraulic brakes, a suspension fork and grippy 20×3in tyres is a genuinely complete spec — most folders in this price bracket give you a weaker motor and mechanical brakes. It's a cadence-sensor bike and at 59 lbs it's no featherweight to hoist, but it folds compact, rides far bigger than its wheels suggest, and the wide rider range makes it a great shared-household or RV-and-boat bike. At $995 it's one of the value picks of the whole Ride1Up range. Full ride review to come.
