The Bike Cave Verdict
Ben's Take
The step-through Level 4 REC is the value Level 4 with the top tube taken away. You keep the strong 750W hub (1188W peak, 80Nm), the 733Wh battery and up-to-75-mile range, and the hydraulic brakes with e-cutoff — but the low stand-over makes mounting and stopping in traffic far easier, for riders about 4'11" to 6'1". At $1,799 it's the same price as the standard frame, so pick the stand-over you prefer. I haven't ridden it on camera yet — full review to come.
