Unlocked to class 3 in the app and GPS-verified on flat road, with motor drag right at the limit. “28 miles an hour confirmed on the little Tempo.”
Throttle-only from the lamp pole over roughly 60–70 ft in class 2 boost — fast bikes hit 20 on this run. “It's just enough to take the edge off and get you going further, faster.”
Throttle alone dipped to 7–8 mph and he had to pedal — with leg power it climbed no problem. “This is definitely a bike that's going to force you to pedal.”
Hard stop from 28 mph landed just a little past the 20-ft marker with no skidding — 180 mm rotors and Shimano 2-piston brakes. “This is attention to detail to the 10th degree.”
After 15.7 miles the display showed 24% battery — an estimated 16 more miles in eco, and close to 23 even worst case in boost. “That is insanely efficient. This is as efficient as I've ever seen any battery, any pedal assist bike.”
Pulse mode adjusts pedal assist to hold a target heart-rate zone — his zone two is 109–125 bpm, and he read around 130 after the big climb. “From what I've been told, it's magic.”
About these numbers: I'm 5'9" and almost 200 lb, testing the size large (regular fits 4'11"–5'8", large fits 5'6"–6'4") on the Kenda 700×42c tires at about 60 psi. Top speed was GPS-verified in class 3 boost. Your mileage — literally — may vary.

Ben's Take
The Tempo is packed with features that just let you enjoy the simple bike ride, and it's filled with tech I haven't seen on any e-bike before. It feels like a bicycle should feel — light, agile, snappy — and unless someone's got a keen eye on that rear hub, there's zero chance they'd tell it's an e-bike. Everything on this bike just screams quality, and at $1,499 I think it's worth every penny for the right rider. The 350 watt motor is just enough to take the edge off, so this is not a hill-climbing e-bike — the only person I wouldn't recommend it to is someone who lives around a lot of hills. But for the city commuter who wants to get to work without getting all sweaty while still getting a workout, Velotric keeps its streak of never disappointing me.

👎 What to know
- Throttle is weak — only good on flat ground, and it won't get you up a hill throttle-only
- Not a hill-climbing e-bike — I wouldn't recommend it to anyone living around a lot of hills
- Pedals are meh, cheap plastic — I'd change them out
- No suspension at all, so you feel every single vibration on gravel
